Turner Classic Movies, Warner Bros. and NCM Fathom have joined in celebration of Casablanca as it turns 70 with Turner Classic Movies Presents the Casablanca 70th Anniversary Event. On Wednesday, March 21, at 7:00 pm (local time), the film that topped the AFI's list of the "100 Greatest Love Stories of All Time," will screen at select theaters nationwide.

I can not recall "Casablanca" being screened locally, as part of a film festival or any format. I'm looking forward to seeing this on the big screen for the first time.

Dan - There's a possibility that the 21st won't work for me either. I was lucky enough to see "Casablanca" on the big screen last year with the local symphony providing the score - but this anniversary event is really not to be missed - & I never get tired of "Casablanca."
Casablanca, is a perfect choice for the 70th Anniversary Event.

ReplyDeleteEve, I think this is the third TCM anniversary event. They also did the 70th of Wizard of Oz and the 50th of West Side Story. I didn't hear about those until I started to investigate this one! They don't give dates of those past events either.
