Most wealthy people always use the excuse of structural issues to demolish a landmark home and not get hate mail. Have seen this happen many times to get around historical designation. I enjoyed both films, I think even more so because the production was exceedingly low budget. That seemed to add to the "noir-ness" for me. I definitely had the feeling with both films that I had seen them on afternoon television years ago. They had that familiar nostalgic feel. And that artist's loft seemed to do double duty in an episode or two of The Dick Van Dyke Show (or maybe that's nostalgia and not memory)!Mariannehttp://makeminefilmnoir.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8509825018139758536.post-25473119462763658672023-08-17T13:26:11.121-07:002023-08-17T13:26:11.121-07:00Thanks for this! Like a lot of talented young actresses like Angie Dickinson & Suzanne Pleshette, good roles were hard to come by on the big screen by the end of the '50s. Lee was luckier than most, but eventually found better work on TV. Lovely, good at drama and comedy, and could even sing!
